Saurabh Agarwal
Hello! My name is Saurabh and I am currently working with an IT Company at Mohali as Head - HRBP. I am here to share my journey over the last 12 of years, from a young teenager to where I am today. I dreamt of becoming a successful HR Professional, however when I passed out from my Post Graduation in 2008, the market conditions were not favourable due to which my entire batch didn’t get any Campus placement opportunity.
That’s when I did extra efforts on my own with the help of our Placement Officer and got a placement with an Infrastructure Organisation at Gurgaon at a CTC which was barely reasonable compared to market standard however I took that opportunity as I knew that I will use this opportunity to grow.
I worked with that organisation for 5 Years and grew to the level of Head-HR managing a Headcount of approx. 2500 employees. After that life has been a roller coaster for me as I got to work under guidance of few stalwarts across multiple Industries.
My association with Career Plan earlier name of The Winning Mantra started during my PGDBM when my college invited them for “Personality Transformation” workshop which helped me gain a deeper perspective into my own personality, uniqueness, strengths and weaknesses. Since then I have been in regular touch with Pramod Sir and he has been a sort of mentor to me.
I feel comfortable reaching out to him for advice in any situation and use his guidance & wisdom to achieve to a conclusion. Today, as I stand and look back, I feel that every generation is far more intelligent & capable then it’s previous one however the only challenge which youngsters are facing is the lack of prioritisation & focus. My advice to the younger lot would be use first job as a platform for learning the nitigrities of the profession and then build upon it as money is the outcome of your expertise.
I would recommend each & everyone who gets to interact with Pramod Sir / Arvind Sir to use it as a lifetime opportunity for learning & growing. I would be delighted if my example can motivate even a single youngster to realize his/her true potential using services of Career Plan and that would be my way of paying back to my own mentor and society as a whole!!
